![]() It can take me days to get the coding just perfect on a website. I know how to write HTML, CSS and some PHP but it is not my favorite part of designing a new website. What do I like about PSD Web Template Design? You will have a layer for the logo, the header, the content, the navigation (or multiple layers in a folder) and so on. But there is no HTML or CSS involved.Įach layer will have the different elements for the website. It has all the visual elements of the web site including the background, the images, the layout, the typography and more. What is a PSD Web Template?Ī PSD Web Template is an un-coded web site. But if I tried to do this with the JPG image file I would pretty much have to start over because all those elements have been smashed together. I could quickly open the PSD file and change the colors of each item, I could change the font of the XOs, I could change the texture on the light pink box, or I could change what the picture said all together. There are 3 layers in the PSD file of this image. You can create a design where each shape, text element and photo is on it’s own separate layer and with the layers separated you can edit each element quickly and easily.Īs an example I will use one of my images from my free valentine’s day printables: When you save the file as a PSD you save each separate layer and the different aspects of those layers including transparency, special effects, and more. I’m sure your eyes just glazed over, I know mine did reading that and I know exactly what it’s saying. These include layers with masks, color spaces, ICC profiles, transparency, text, alpha channels and spot colors, clipping paths, and duotone settings. PSD (Photoshop Document) … stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop. I love the instant gratification I get using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to create a beautiful layout. ![]() I have found that my favorite projects are creating PSD Web Templates. After a year working on my business, Uniquehorn Designs, I have found my focus. ![]()

![]() ![]() The WebBrowser control in WPF and WinForms is a built in control, and although it's very old and based on Internet Explorer, it can render most HTML 5 content and many relatively modern JavaScript libraries.įor example, in Markdown Monster I use the IE WebBrowser control very effectively to render the JavaScript based editor and Web preview browsers and that just fine with excellent performance for example. The old Internet Explorer based Web Browser Control It provides fast, modern rendering that's (optionally) always updated to the latest Chromium features, which is the browser engine that most mainstream browsers now all use for HTML rendering - the big exception being FireFox.īefore we dive into the WebView, first a little history on where we are coming from. So coming from a WebBrowser control, the WebView2 control seems like a shoo-in especially for new applications. The original WebView control is now obsolete and longer supported. Note that the WebView2 is a very different control than the original WebView control, which existed briefly and was based on the classic Edge engine. Part 2 focuses on interaction with content and. In this installment I'll talk about the control's features, and how to use the control to display content and how to get it installed with your applications. I'll talk about how I went about this integration and some of the challenges I ran into in Part 2. While this process took some effort and finding out a lot about how the control works and what doesn't, overall the end result was very encouraging as I managed - with a bit of effort - to duplicate most of the interop functionality that the preview interface required. NET bits are still in preview, performance and stability are very promising at this point.Īfter some initial experimenting with features and performance, I decided to integrate the WebView2 initially in Markdown Monster as an optional preview browser addin to support Chromium rendering. The WebView2 control is Microsoft's entry in this space and they are throwing their weight behind the Edge Chromium browser with application level features for C++, WinForms and WPF applications. So I was exited to hear that Microsoft was creating a WebView control in tandem with the new Edge Chromium browser that recently was released, even if these developments took a lot longer than originally anticipated. Third party Chromium based controls (like CefSharp) have been available for a while, but for me these complex controls have been a struggle to integrate and operate efficiently and reliably in the past especially in WPF. The Microsoft Edge WebView2 control is a new Chromium based Web Browser control that aims to replace the Internet Explorer based WebBrowser control that's commonly used in WPF and WinForms. ![]() Part 3 - Real World Integration and Lessons Learned (coming soon).Part 2 - Chromium WebView2 Control and.Part 1 - Taking the new Chromium WebView2 Control for a Spin in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nevertheless, it is worth noting that topics of discussion are reinforced or excluded in this way. This is worth noting because, if correct, it entails that the perceived relevance of topics is due to political power in academia. Rather it is (also and perhaps crucially) reinforced by the fact that certain members of that group are quite powerful when it comes to the distribution of jobs, grants, publication space and other items relevant to survival in academia. The relevance of such a topic, however, is reinforced not by the mere fact that all members of the dominant group are interested in that topic. Now where does the normative force of such locutions originate? Talking about historical positions, such “we” locutions seem to track the relevance of a given topic for a dominant group, the group of philosophers identifying as analytic. ![]() So the sentence “Currently, we have a heated debate about the trolley problem” has to be taken in the same vein as the sentence “We don’t eat peas with our fingers.” It states at once what we (don’t) do as well as what we should (or should not) do.* Locutions with this kind of normative “we” are at once descriptive and directive. It is normative in that it does not merely pick out individuals who are interested in certain issues rather it specifies what any individual should be interested in. In the latter sense, however, the word would pick out a certain group, specified as “analytic philosophers”. Thus, it might refer to a quite diverse set of individuals. Using the word in the former sense, it includes all the people who are reading or (in the given cases) are studying history of philosophy. Clearly, it suggests a distinction between an indexical and a normative use of the word “we”. I think this is a rather timely remark and worth some further discussion. In any case, whether it is empty or not, a felt tactical need to speak to that audience might explain why the “we” locution is so common.” The historian is almost bound to speak to the interests of that imagined population, which is still a rough approximation of course but not, I think, a completely empty notion. “… as a pragmatic issue, at least professional philosophers who work, or want to work, in the English speaking world cannot easily avoid imagining a population of analytic philosophers who have a say in who gets jobs, etc. While agreeing with the general point, Peter Adamson remarked that I called this phenomenon synchronic anachronism. Someone claiming that we today are interested in certain questions might easily obscure the fact that current interests are rather diverse. ![]() ![]() ![]() Throughout the building, the design carries a sense of elegance and quality that pays homage to the past while looking toward the future. Were just looking to kill some time during the day before heading up to the boulder field and the lake seems like a good side trip. I was just suggesting that if the OP is interested in a relatively quick out-and-back to the lake as a side trip from a backpacking trip, that he not waste and energy on that pile of rubble. I've gone that way several times en route to other objectives, and every time it's just a PITA. TBH I wasn't really thinking about a direct route from Chasm Lake to the Boulder Field, but rather the annoying, slow travel over the giant boulders that make up the northern shore of the lake. There are several TRs on it, including an old but really informative account by flyingmagpie. Mostly steep class 2, not a difficult climb, but it might be a bit much with a heavy camp pack. It's been dubbed the "camel route" after the shape of a distinctive boulder at the top. There is a reasonable route around the lake to the north and up to the Boulder Field. We are planning on arriving at the boulder field campsite late afternoon/evening before dark to possibly avoid the afternoon storms. ![]() If your vet practice won’t allow this, then consider changing to a practice that will.Ĭats can have their meals placed in the cat basket (with the door open) and be free to use it as a bed. Ask your vet if you can bring your kitten to the clinic so that staff can pet and feed the kitten. Kittens should be handled from a very young age and introduced to as many unusual stimuli as possible, in a kind and sensitive way, before they reach maturity. Positive reinforcement training (which some people know as “clicker training”, where a sound tells the animal that their good behaviour will shortly result in a treat) is used to train many animals, including zoo animals such as elephants and chimpanzees, to accept examination and treatment – and cats are quite easy to clicker train. Cats can even learn to tolerate claw clipping if the training is done well – although cats, even indoor cats, that are given the opportunity to express normal scratching behaviour will keep their own claws in order. If you do it well and keep up the training, the cat may come to consider a visit to the vet or groomer a pleasure. Even for a cat that is used to lots of different situations and has been handled a lot, there may be times when it cannot cope with an invasive examination or treatment, and a muzzle may be necessary.īut for most routine procedures, it should be possible to train your cat to accept handling of all types. For emergency treatment, especially of stray or feral cats that are not used to being handled, it may be unavoidable. The important question is when these devices should be used. Although the one below looks rather bulkier, it lets the cat see, miaow and hiss, breathe and pant. A much better design is available for those times when veterinary treatment is unavoidable. Indeed, if the muzzle becomes slightly displaced during a veterinary procedure, it may cover the nostrils and the cat won’t be able to breathe at all. Some cats that are very stressed or frightened will breathe through their mouth, which is not possible with this muzzle because of the tiny hole in the end. It is likely that it will be even more frightened the next time it has treatment. It is clear from the body position of the cat in the photograph that it is not relaxed and is feeling very anxious. It may mean that it will struggle less before or during the procedure, but that may be because a terrified cat will often freeze. The idea that a cat that cannot is a less stressed cat is unlikely to be true. The one below is not one of the better ones. A muzzle may be just the thing.īut not all muzzles are created equal. Clearly, there needs to be a way to prevent injury to the cat and the people involved and in these situations. Cats react badly to visiting the vet and often need to be restrained when they are examined or treated. Although many enjoy being petted, any more handling than that and they’re likely to get their claws out, as anyone who has ever tried to take a cat to the vet will know. Yet there they are online, by the dozen, in a wide range of styles and colours.Ĭats are independent creatures. ![]() ![]() It’s not unusual to slap a muzzle on a dog if it’s being aggressive or not keen on being given an injection, but a muzzle is not part of your average cat’s wardrobe. ![]() ![]() Could you put a muzzle on this?
